RPC and LEZ

Green Urban has registered their Diesel Particulate filter with both TFL (for the London LEZ) and VOSA (for the Reduced Pollution Certificate).

Fitting the RPC System means that not only can you become compliant for the London Low Emission Zone, you can apply for a reduction in Road Fund Liecense.

The Road Fund discount matrix can be found at DVLA form V149
The GreenUrban ecotrap is a Full Flow Diesel Particulate Filter which uses a modular design consisting of:

1. Inlet Chamber with End / Side pipe options
2. Filtration / Silencer Module
3. Outlet Chamber with End / Side pipe options

The Filtration Module contains a Silicon Carbide Wall-Flow Filter through which the entire exhaust gas stream flows. The filter uses a catalysed zone coating to initialise regeneration (the burning off of the collected
soot):

1. Euro 2 or Euro 3 exhaust gas enters the GreenUrban ecotrap through the Inlet Pipe (A1) and expands into the Inlet Chamber (A)

2. The gas disperses and enters the Filtration Module (B)

3. The gas travels through the internal walls of the filter which have a porosity of 43% +/- 2% and a pore size of between 9-17 microns.
The particulate is caught in the walls of the filter whist the exhaust gas is allowed to continue freely through

4. The collected particulate is burnt off by the coating on the filter which is activated by heat from the exhaust gases.
The gas is now Euro 4 compliant for particulate and progresses into the Outlet Chamber (C) before leaving the GreenUrban ecotrap through the Outlet Pipe (C1)
